- Study on the Somme rural and its author Jean Bouteillier (c. 1335-c. 1395). A standard work on medieval law stating the whole of French law at the end of the 14th century, containing customary, Roman, and canon law and founded on the customs of the north of France. It was translated into Flemish in the 15th century (de Somme Rurael), and thus had considerable influence on the development of the law of the Netherlands. Reference: Walker 146.
