Professor Gurvitch's book seeks to fill the gap. Roscoe Pound, the late Dean of the Faculty of Law, Harvard University, introduces the new topic and defines its function in the Anglo-American setting. Dr. Gurvitch has worked in this field over a period of 20 years. His previous writings devoted to these problems are out of print.
