• Extra informatie: - Friedrich Carl von Savigny (1779-1861) professor of law at Berlin (1810-1842). He became a member of the Council of State about 1817, Minister of Justice of Prussia in 1842, and was Minister for the Revision of the Law until 1848. Von Savigny was the most important member of the famous German Historical school of jurists. This work was planned in 7 books, viz.: 1: Rechtsquellen; 2: Rechtsverhältnisse; 3: Anwendung der Rechtsquellen auf die Rechtsverhältnisse; 4: Sachenrecht; 5: Obligationenrecht; 6: Familienrecht; 7: Erbrecht. The plan was, however, altered during publication and the work stopped at the conclusion of book 3. Only book 5 appeared in 1851 as a separate work. Roberts 275.
