• Extra informatie: - Collected works on medieval law by Federico Patetta (1867-1945), professor of history of Italian law at the University of Macerata in 1892-93. He taught subsequently at the universities of Siena and Modena (1902-1908), Pisa, Turin and in 1909 he took over the chair of history of Italian law from Francesco Ruffini. He taught in Turin until the academic year 1932-33. Patetta was a bibliophile and collector of rare books and manuscripts. His investigations into the forms of evidence in barbaric trials, his studies on the history of Roman law in the Middle Ages, his critical editions of sources, among which that of the Summa Perusina is particularly noteworthy, immediately gave him wide renown. After his death, the University of Turin purchased his entire bibliographic collection (incunabula, sixteenth-century books, etc.) and the Federico Patetta Library was established.
